Scott Peterson is the Broker and Owner of SmartSell Realty. He has been selling homes in and around the Gainesville/Alachua County area for over ten years. He received much of his training from both the Century-21 and ERA franchises and is familiar with how different companies of different sizes operate. Scott found that all real estate companies have one thing in common that is really the backbone of modern real estate: The Multiple Listing System. SmartSell Realty is a member of the National Association of Realtors (NAR), The Florida Association of Realtors (FAR) and The Gainesville/Alachua Association of Realtors (GACAR).

Our unique, money-saver listing service
Several years ago, two young realtors began calling people who were selling their homes themselves in an effort to acquire their business. Many people were willing to pay 3% but cringed at the thought of 5%, 6% or even 7% leaving their pockets. After some careful thought and planning, the SmartSell concept was born....

Instead of a large percentage commission paid at closing, SmartSell Realty charges a flat $745.00 MLS registration fee at the time the listing is taken, and only three percent of the purchase price is paid at closing to whichever company represent the Buyer. In return, the client receives a full service listing, including sign, lockbox, MLS entry/maintenance, advertisement in the Real Estate Book and in several places on the Internet. We handle all of the closing details and paperwork for you, so the only thing our selling clients need to worry about is signing their closing papers and cashing their check!

At first, he did so under his best friend's company, SmartSell Real Estate Services, Inc. Once his broker and best friend moved to Colorado, however, Scott started his own company in January of 2000.
